Wordpress Plugins enhance your Website. There is so much that you can do with them. You can choose from so many different Plugins to fit your needs and help you easily create something awesome. But today I want to focus on my personal top 5 Wordpress Plugins that I use in every project!

1. WP Rocket

Oh boy. This Plugin skyrocketed it's way in my heart and this list. I was using a mix between Autoptimize and some Caching Plugin (W3 Total Cache or Cachify). It was a new project where we obtained a license for WP Rocket and tried it, and let me tell you, it is amazing. I have done many performance tests for my client, and no option, no plugin, no combination of plugins or anything else i tried where that fast and optimized. WP Rocket is an Allrounder and does it job perfectly. From file optimization, concatenation, caching, database optimizations, preloading, lazy load, cdn and much more. 2. Yoast SEO

Definitely my favorite Plugin. Yoast SEO is, as the name implies already, a SEO Plugin. It is super easy to use and does a lot already by simply installing it. For each Post or Page etc. you can define a Title, different Description, Visible Slug, and a focus keyword. If you don't want to create a Title or Description yourself don't worry Yoast SEO got you. It automatically takes page/post name as Title and text for the description which often is already more than nothing. The Plugin also analyzes your provided information and tells you if you can improve certain parts of your meta information. It also adds Meta Tags for Open Graph Data that helps in sharing your content on Social Networks such as Facebook or Twitter. But wait there is more! Yoast SEO has the ability to create a sitemap for you. You can configure a lot of what you want to be indexed and what not and it is really simple. This comes in quite handy when you're about to register your new websites on the Google Search Console and have not only your SEO sorted but also have the Sitemap created for you! Link to Yoast SEO

3. Rename wp-login.php

Wordpress is known around the globe and is the most used CMS. This means many people know the Login URL for the Admin area which is usually accessible through {domain}/wp-admin or {domain}/wp-login.php. But what's the big deal now? Well since it is so known people that want to "hack" your Website and get into an admin account to take over the website or install malicious code also know this information and can try to get in. You could install a security Plugin that blocks you out after a certain number of failed tries but I like the plugin Rename wp-login.php solution more. It simply changes the Login URL to whatever you set. So you could have {domain}/secretlogin/ and only you would know that and put an extra hurdle in the way of people with bad intent. 4. Smush

Regarding SEO we want to optimize our Images. Because smaller images mean faster loading times! Smush does a great job with this and all you need to do is press a button and Smush does the rest. Additionally, you can set a max height and width for your images and these will be resized upon upload. I usually go with max 2000px for both values as you will most likely not need the images in higher resolutions. Link to Smush

5. UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore

Last but not least we have the Backup Plugin UpdraftPlus. You want to have Backups, even if that means you have to put a little work into. Convenient for us UpdraftPlus makes the backup process really easy. It offers many different options such as FTP, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox and many more. You can schedule automatic Backups or do them manually. Link to UpdraftPlus

Howdy would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most
blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
